Hi everyone!
We’re encouraged to connect with you all tonight at 8 pm for our time of corporate prayer and praise as we seek God on behalf of the greater Fort Worth metroplex.
Last week we specifically prayed and sought God for how we best honor Him in loving and serving our neighbors throughout the communities and campuses as we would love ourselves.
As we invest time together tonight, we’ll continue to aim our hearts to pray through the life and lens of the persistent widow (Luke 18:1-8), praying specifically to reach and see the Gospel transform communities and campuses across Fort Worth.
1 Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. 2 He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought. 3 And there was a widow in that town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.’ 4 “For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think, 5 yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me!’” 6 And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. 7 And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? 8 I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
May this passage encourage us to not grow weary when we pray and give up on prayers and praying in general. I know, it’s often easier said than done.
However, my hope for us as we enter into prayer tonight (and each time we gather) is to fervently seek God in prayer for His will to be done across our growing city — Fort Worth, Texas.
As we do this, I pray that our hearts are greatly encouraged, yet transformed to persist in prayer for the lost to be reached and re-connected to the Father’s heart for them personally in the here and now as well as eternally.
In addition, my daily hope and prayer are that we, Mosaic Church Fort Worth, also grow as followers and believers of Jesus, and in deeper relational connection as Jesus did to the Father’s heart and His love for ourselves, family/friends, neighbors, coworkers, and the communities, campuses, and the city of Fort Worth.
And may it be said of all the days of our lives:
That we faithfully persist in prayer for God’s will to be done here in Fort Worth, Texas as it is in heaven.
