Sowing Seeds of Faith to Open Hearts.

I hope you’re staying safe and cool amidst the scorching summer heat.

Despite the soaring temperatures, we can’t help but rejoice in the signs of God’s presence and His miraculous work happening worldwide.

As I watered our yard this morning, the Parable of the Sower from Matthew 13:3-9 came to mind:

3 Then [Jesus] told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 4 As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 5 Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 6 But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 7 Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 8 Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown. 9 Whoever has ears, let them hear.”

The water’s life-giving sustenance to grass reminded me of the power of God’s Word to bring growth and fruitfulness in receptive hearts, like seeds being sown in good soil and watered diligently.

In light of this reflection, as we gather in prayer today, let us give thanks to God for His provision and seek His grace and favor to prepare the prayer requests below as good, receptive soil for the seeds of faith to grow the soul and God’s kingdom:

  • Women’s Summer Bible Study:
Pray for the women joining our Summer Bible Study on Jude, that the Holy Spirit would empower and equip them, anchoring them deeply in God’s Word.
  • Fort Worth ISD Partnership:
Pray for divine alignment and fruitful collaboration between local churches, the district, and Dr. Angelicá Ramsey’s team as we discuss joint efforts in community, literacy, and teacher appreciation initiatives.
  • O.D. Wyatt High School:
Pray for Principal Howard Robinson, faculty, staff, parents, and students of O.D. Wyatt High School, that God’s presence, protection, provision, and guidance would be evident in the upcoming school year.
  • Launch of Monthly Gatherings and Bible Study:
Pray for the upcoming September 10th launch at Benbrook Middle-High School and the active participation of nearby residents in establishing the church. Pray for hearts to encounter Jesus’ love and for a transformative study of the Book of Acts in these gatherings.
  • Divine Appointments:
Pray for boldness and courage in sharing the good news of Jesus in our community and on campuses. Pray for receptive hearts open to the life-changing message we bear as followers of Jesus.
  • TCU Students and Faculty/Staff:
Pray for the Holy Spirit to open hearts, minds to be receptive, and a hunger for the good news of Jesus as students and faculty return to TCU.
  • Every Nation Campus at TCU:
Pray for God’s grace, favor, and mercy in establishing an official Every Nation Campus chapter at TCU, uniting committed students and faculty to make a significant impact for Christ on campus.
  • Exodus Retreat:
Pray for divine alignment and revelation of God’s purpose in the lives of TCU first-year students and Pastor Alvin as he serves as the Master of Ceremony for this transformative retreat.
  • Expansion to Other Institutions:
Pray for open doors, receptive hearts, and meaningful connections at UTA, TCC, TWU, and TSU-Fort Worth so that God’s presence may be felt and His purpose fulfilled in these institutions.

May His guidance, presence, and blessings be upon these areas as we intercede and sow seeds of prayer, trusting in His faithfulness and the transformative power of His Word.

These prayer points offer a glimpse into God’s incredible work in and through us. Remember, God, hears and answers our prayers. He is good, faithful, and for us.

Join us tonight at 8 pm on Zoom as we seek God’s direction, blessing, and fruitful growth in these kingdom endeavors.

God bless,
Pastor Alvin & Mallary Brown
