How’s your week shaping up? Feeling a bit more holey than holy? Trust me, we’ve all been there…
When our guard and discipline are let down, and we’ve wandered in directions, whether knowingly or unknowingly, that leaves us feeling disconnected from the holiness of God we deeply crave and undeniably need.
The daily spiritual disciplines often slip away from us, and before we know it, our holiness found in God becomes holiness lost in sin.
We’ve all experienced the consequences of our sins—separation from God, loss of identity, purposelessness, struggle for provision, confidence replaced by shame, guilt, and fear, broken and estranged relationships, and a skewed perspective on sin’s impact on our lives.
But here’s the silver lining—we don’t have to remain stuck in sin. Although sin has caused humanity to lose what could only be found in God—holiness, Jesus restores all that’s been lost:
- Connection to Him: Embrace the love that fills the voids in our hearts left by sin (1 John 4:9-10).
- Right standing with Him: He erases our sins, offering us a clean slate (2 Corinthians 5:21).
- Identity and purpose: In Him, we discover who we are and why we’re here (Philippians 3:13-14).
- His provision: No more striving for existence; God’s got it and us covered (Philippians 4:19).
- Confidence before Him: His grace invites us to confidently approach (Hebrews 10:19-22).
- Relationships: He places us in a thriving community of believers, just like in the early church (Acts 2:42-44).
Let’s believe in a holiness found and grounded in God as we pray for Jesus’ restorative touch to make lives whole and, most importantly, holy!
And one last thing… don’t forget to share your thoughts in our quick survey BEFORE Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 5 pm. Changes are on the horizon, starting the full first week of February.
See you soon on Zoom.
God bless,
