I hope you’re having a peaceful morning as we continue our Advent journey, celebrating the hope, peace, joy, and love that come through Jesus, the true Light of the world.
Today’s prayer time is significant, as we’re one week away from Christmas, and it’s our final prayer call of 2024! What a year of and for God it’s been!
As we continue our series, See The Christmas Light—The Prologue of John 1, we’ll pick up from Sunday’s message, Grace and Truth To See The Way, in John 1:9-14.
This passage reminds us that Jesus is the ultimate embodiment of truth—a truth that reveals the darkness of our hearts and the grace that pulls us out of that darkness and into the light of life.
Through the tension of grace and truth, wrapped in His humble love, we see how to live the life we’ve always longed for. It’s a beautiful, powerful, and humbling truth.
As Frank Sinatra once sang, “Love and marriage go together like a horse and carriage”—we can’t have one without the other. Likewise, grace and truth are meant to be together, and Jesus offers both in perfect harmony, wrapped in humble love.
In our time of prayer today, let’s pray for one another and lift these specific requests to God as we seek the true light of Christmas, Jesus:
For those who feel far from God or unsure of their faith would encounter Jesus as the true light of the world and say yes to His invitation.
For clarity in heart and mind to see and embrace the truth only found in Jesus, even when that truth challenges our personal desires or beliefs.
For courage to let go and wisdom to see God’s boundaries, trusting and believing that His boundaries bring peace and purpose into our lives.
For those battling shame, guilt, or fear of sin to receive freedom and healing in the grace of Jesus.
For hearts to accept God’s grace as a free gift to graciously and freely share with others, extending the same love we’ve received.
For strength to stay true to and live by God’s Word every day, resisting worldly pressures and selfish temptations.
For the church and community to reflect both grace and truth wrapped in humble love, fostering unity, compassion, and understanding in all our relationships.
For believers to confidently share Jesus’s grace and truth in our words and actions, spreading His love to those where we live, work, and play.
For hearts to be filled and overflowing with joy and peace this Advent season as we believe in and receive the true light of Jesus, God with us.
Know that God is listening and will meet us right where we are. So, remember that we are not alone in this life, nor were we ever created to be alone.
We are gifts made for God and His people to live in His grace and truth wrapped in His love. This Christmas and as the new year is fast approaching, let’s pray and walk together in the light of Jesus—the grace and truth to see the way.

Join us in praying for the 2025 ENC Conference that students will encounter God through messages, breakout sessions, discipleship moments, and more. College students have the power to impact the world, regardless of their degree. The campus is a strategic mission field, and by reaching students, we can reach the world with the gospel.

Alvin Brown, the Lead Pastor of Mosaic Church Fort Worth, brings over a decade of pastoral ministry experience and more than 20 years of operational and technical leadership expertise.
