As we continue through this Lenten season—a time of reflection, prayer, and preparation—let’s fix our hearts on Jesus and His ways.
Songs play a powerful role throughout Scripture. We see them in the Song of Solomon, Lamentations, and, as we’ve explored over the last six weeks, Psalms.
Time and time again, Jesus withdrew from the crowds to pray—to sing His heart-song before the Father.
Just as music tells a story and connects us to people, places, and memories, so does a nation sing its own song—an anthem that reflects its identity and deepest allegiance.
Consider God Bless America—a song that we often sing with pride in our hearts as Americans.
Yet how often do we pause to ask: Is our nation truly blessing God?
Psalm 67 gives us a different perspective. It reminds us that God’s blessings were never meant to stop with us but to flow through us so that all nations would come to know Him.
Too often, we seek God’s favor without offering Him our full allegiance.
We want His blessings—but do we live in a way that honors Him?
Do we pledge our devotion to God above all else, or do we put our own comfort, ambitions, or even our country before Him?
This Lent, let’s not just pray God bless America—let’s pray, America, bless God.
Let’s ask God to shape us into a nation that honors Him:
🙏 For our nation and all people to seek God’s Kingdom first, know Jesus, and bless others in His name.
🙏 For our nation to reflect God’s mercy and justice, treating all with dignity and living in unity, love, and service.
🙏 For our nation and all people to turn to Jesus, be empowered by the Holy Spirit, and pursue peace.
🙏 For those struggling in sin to repent and experience God’s hope, healing, and deliverance.
🙏 For wisdom, justice, and humility for our nation’s leaders at all levels.
🙏 For strong, Christ-centered marriages and families, filled with love, healing, and kindness.
🙏 For restoration in broken places, bringing renewal to our nation.
🙏 For all people to recognize God’s blessings and share them with others and the world.
Psalm 67 reminds us: true blessing is not about prosperity—it’s about knowing God and making Him known.
A nation that honors God is one that exalts righteousness, pursues justice, and lives in worship—not just in words, but in heart and deed.
And it starts with us.
May we be a people who seek first His Kingdom—so that His saving power might be known in every nation, beginning with our own.
See you at noon!
God Bless,
Pastor Alvin and Mallary Brown
