“That’s not my responsibility. Who’s in charge of this?”
“That costs way more than I’m willing to give.”
“It doesn’t matter now—it’s too late to do anything about it.”
Have you ever found yourself in the crosshairs of one of these moments?
We all have. Maybe we’re there right now. Or perhaps we’ve encountered someone who has spoken these very words.
But some moments in life demand courage—stepping out when it would be easier to stay put, speaking up when silence feels safer, or taking responsibility when no one else will.
As we explored in Sunday’s message, Joseph of Arimathea understood this well. When others remained passive, he risked his status, reputation, and security to honor Jesus.
Maybe you’re facing a moment like that—one where faith feels risky, but obedience is calling.
Whether it’s trusting God with an uncertain future, stepping into a difficult conversation, or believing for a breakthrough, you don’t have to face it alone.
Together, we can bring all of life moments to the One who strengthens our faith and meets us where we are—Jesus.
Let’s turn to Him in prayer as we believe:
🙏 For boldness and courage to step out in mission-driven faith, even when it feels illogical, risky, costly, or uncomfortable.
🙏 For open doors and transformed hearts so we may love, serve, and share the hope we have in Christ.
🙏 To value God’s approval and acceptance over people pleasing, so we don’t stay passive in faith.
🙏 That our decisions would be shaped by His kingdom, not by comfort or self-preservation.
🙏 For strength to do what is right before God and others—whether seen or unseen.
🙏 To embrace the responsibility of seeing and caring for others, just as Joseph cared for Jesus.
🙏 To trust that when we take faith-filled risks for Him, the outcome is in His hands.
🙏 To never forget Jesus’ sacrifice—and let it move us to action.
Surrendering to faith-filled risks where we live, work, and play won’t always make sense to others—or even to us.
But here’s what remains true:
We can take risks in faith because we follow a crucified and resurrected Savior who did for us what we could never do for ourselves—rescue us from sin and death, yet giving us abundant and eternal life.
When considering the depth of risk Jesus took for us, no step of faith is ever too costly or too late for Him.
Join us today and let your faith be buoyed in taking faith-filled risks to live out God’s mission as His people, His church.
See you soon!
God Bless,
Pastor Alvin and Mallary Brown
