I hope your day (and week) is off to a great start after our deep dive into God’s holiness in our “Set Apart: A Biblical View of Holiness” series on Sunday.
As we mentioned on Sunday, we’re thrilled about our newly adjusted weekly prayer call time, and we’d love for you to join us from 12 pm to 12:30 pm on Zoom.
Today, we will focus on seeking God’s restoration of holiness in our city and beyond. Picking up from where we left off Sunday, we’ll reflect on Hebrews 7:23-28, which addresses the challenge faced by early Jewish Christians—the temptation to turn from God’s holiness to unholy living, influenced by the culture around them.
Sound familiar? In today’s world, it’s just as easy to turn to modern-day priests and sacrifices—whether it’s politics, celebrity worship, blame-shifting, minimizing sin, or other pursuits that take us far from God—to fill the void in our hearts. These pursuits can never truly satisfy.
But here’s the beautiful part… the good news!
Despite these tempting distractions, only God’s holiness through Jesus can truly satisfy and bring restoration. Jesus is our guarantor of a better covenant, our eternal high priest whose sacrifice atones our sins and offers us redemption.
So, let’s unite in prayer, asking God to bring hearts back to Jesus and His holiness, transforming lives, our city, and the world.
Don’t forget to set your alarm for noon. See you then!
God bless,
Pastor Alvin & Mallary Brown
