From Sunday’s message, “The Gospel Is…,” when you read Romans 1, specifically verses 16-17, what comes to mind for you?
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith.”” —Romans 1:16-17 (ESV)
Do these verses remind you of the powerful truth that the Gospel is for you, me, and everyone?
Or do these verses arrest our hearts and lives from faith to fear by the shaming power of sin in rejecting God?
Or do these verses free our hearts and lives from fear to faith by the approval and righteousness of God?
As we pray today, let’s be reminded of the following truths about the Gospel is for everyone:
- The Gospel’s power is not just a principle but way greater, a Person—Jesus Christ.
- The Gospel is something we believe and receive by faith, and we can never achieve it on our own merit.
- Through Jesus’s life, death, burial, and resurrection, the Gospel’s power to reveal God’s ultimate approval and righteousness is revealed and bestowed upon us.
Let our thoughts, deeds, words, actions, and hearts be moved and empowered by the Holy Spirit to preach the Gospel in humble faith and see others released from their stories of shame that we were once in the bondage of.
This week, let’s focus our prayers on the following as we seek God’s wisdom and understanding to live out the truths that the Gospel is for everyone where we live, work, and play:
🙏Thank and praise God for empowerment to live out Romans 1:16-17 in our daily lives.
🙏Ask God to fill us with boldness and courage to share the Gospel in grace, love, and truth without shame.
🙏Ask God for specific names of friends, family, and neighbors, whether they are lost or found in Christ, to experience the Gospel’s transformative power.
Let’s go in faith, trusting God to transform stories of shame into stories of redemption through His righteousness and approval in Jesus.
Looking forward to praying with you at 12 pm!
God bless,

Additionally, we will make space to pray for God to extend His reach beyond the limits of our city and into the world, seeking His wisdom, unity, safety, and provision for the following people and initiatives:

As we pray, let’s raise up Campus Missionary Nozomi Hunter, who serves Drexel University. Nozomi’s heart for students and the Nations are to reach international students who may have never heard the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Join us in prayer for Pastor Billy and Naomi Lile and their family as they lead Pearlside Church in Oahu, Hawaii. Under their leadership, the campus ministry grew from under 70 students to over 700, with multiple services and 100+ student-led small groups. The Liles are passionate about reaching the next generation and raising future leaders and have trained and sent dozens of missionaries across the U.S. and the world.
