Curiosity Meets The Cross.

Happy New Year! As we begin 2025, we’re filled with gratitude for all that God has done, is doing, and will do in our lives and our church family.

What a blessing it was to gather last week with over 700 Every Nation churches worldwide for a week of prayer, fasting, and consecration. Through it all, we experienced God’s abundant grace and the unshakable assurance of His covenant to be in relationship with us through Jesus.

He is ours, and we are His—because of the cross!

On Sunday, we continued reflecting on the cross and its profound significance as we began a brand-new sermon series. Together, we explored the life of Nicodemus in John 3:1-15 and John 19:38-42—a man whose journey went from the nighttime cross of curiosity about Jesus to the cross of conversion and truly knowing Him.

As we discovered, curiosity is a wonderful starting point. It can lead us to ask questions, search for answers, and long for fulfillment. But curiosity without the revelatory conversion of the cross leaves us blind to the depth of the problem of sin.

The cross shows us the true seriousness of our sin and the incredible lengths God went to redeem us. It reveals both the gravity of sin and the magnitude of God’s love and sacrifice. God “did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all” (Romans 8:32).

Today, as we gather for our first prayer call of the year, we want to reflect on the Nicodemus that lives in each of our hearts. The journey from curiosity to conversion is one we all experience, and it’s one that transforms us forever.

Let’s come together in prayer for these specific requests:

🙏 To no longer be limited by worldly reservations, but to fully surrender to the reservation of eternal life that the cross offers us in Jesus.🙏 To overcome worldly preconceptions that hinder us from fully accepting Jesus as our Savior and Lord.

🙏 That the curious would not settle for merely knowing of Jesus but would embrace the gift of salvation by truly knowing Him.

🙏 For a divine revelation of both the seriousness of sin and the greatness of God’s provision to deal with it through the cross.

🙏 That we would learn to deny ourselves, take up our crosses daily, and live as disciples who make disciples of Jesus.

The cross is more than a symbol. It’s an invitation to experience the fullness of God’s love, grace, and freedom.

As we pray together today, let’s ask the Holy Spirit to transform our hearts and reveal the deep truth of the cross in our lives.

Let this be a year where curiosity leads to conversion, and where conversion leads to a life fully surrendered to Christ.

We can’t wait to see you on Zoom today at 12 PM as we pray together, united in faith and purpose.

God Bless,

Pastor Alvin and Mallary Brown
