From one seat of power to the next, we meet face-to-face with the sobering reality that while traditional forms of slavery may seem like a distant past, slavery continues to exist in new, hidden forms—namely, human trafficking.
It’s shocking to consider that 49.6 million people are enslaved today, more than at any other time in history. This exploitation of vulnerable men, women, and children for labor and their bodies generates billions of dollars in profit each year—$236 billion and counting.
