Prayer for Strength and Comfort in Times of Disaster.

I hope this email finds you well despite the challenging times we are currently experiencing.

This year has brought an increasing number of exponential natural disasters that have left many in dire need.

Hurricanes, tropical storms, flooding, landslides, tornadoes, and wildfires have wreaked havoc not only in the US but also in Canada and beyond.

Our hearts are heavy with compassion as we witness the devastation and suffering caused by these calamities.

As we pray tonight, our focus extends beyond the boundaries of Fort Worth, Texas, and even the United States. We aim to unite in prayer that transcends borders and reaches out to our global Every Nation family.

One particular group within our family, our brothers and sisters from Grace Bible Church in Maui, Hawaii, has been severely impacted by the tragic Lahaina Wildfire. The scale of destruction is heart-wrenching, with over a thousand individuals affected, homes and belongings destroyed, and the loss of friends and loved ones. Their lives have been forever changed.

In times of colossal loss and suffering, like what we’ve witnessed recently, we are to be reminded of God’s faithfulness and His nearness. Psalm 46, verses 1-3, offer us solace and strength in knowing the following:

"God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging."

These verses remind us that even in the face of unimaginable adversity, we can find refuge in the arms of our Heavenly Father. He is our source of strength and an ever-present help in times of trouble.

No matter how turbulent the world becomes, we need not fear, for our Father’s steadfast love and unfailing grace will see us through.

God, in His infinite wisdom, understands the depth of pain and loss. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to save a world lost in sin, darkness, and death. And just as Christ was resurrected from death to life, we too can experience His redeeming and resurrecting love in our moments of loss and suffering when we place our trust, hope, and faith completely in God, in the person of Jesus.

In this spirit of unwavering faith, I invite you to watch the latest video update from our brothers and sisters at Grace Bible Church in Maui.

Grace Bible Church Maui serves as an evacuation site, providing shelter, gathering supplies, feeding first responders, and ministering hope to those in need. Our Hawaiian brothers and sisters display incredible resilience, unity, and faith during overwhelming circumstances. Their testimonies of hope and unwavering trust in God are truly inspiring.

As we witness their resilient strength, let’s commit to the following:

  • Fervently pray for our impacted brothers and sisters.
  • Donate tangible items such as clothes, food, and supplies.
  • Contribute financially to support them in their time of need.

Every prayer and donation, no matter how small, can make a significant difference in helping them rebuild their lives.

Our Nashville office has established a Maui Relief Fund to aid our churches in Hawaii as they bring assistance to those affected by this disaster. I encourage you to join us in praying and giving as they continue to serve their island.

Let’s rally together as a global family of faith in the body of Christ. Together, praying and taking action, we can provide comfort and support to our brothers and sisters who are enduring these trials.

Thank you for your compassion, prayers, and generosity as we continue to uphold one another through the love of Jesus, firmly believing that God is our refuge and strength in times of trouble.

See you tonight at 8 pm on Zoom.

God bless,
