What is the driving force behind your life, shaping your every decision and action?
You know, what in this life are you most devoted to? What is it that you hold most closely to heart?
Consider this:
If we were to capture a snapshot of your daily living, what would it reveal about your priorities—where you invest your time, talents, and treasures?
While our individual responses may vary, there’s an unspoken longing that unites us all—the desire for validation, connection, purpose, and that profound sense of belonging.
Strangely, in a world full of distractions and choices and an age of unprecedented technological connectivity, it’s alarming and perplexing to witness many, including those close to us and even ourselves, battling a growing sense of isolation and loneliness.
You might ask, ‘How can this be?’
However, let’s not underestimate the gravity of this issue. A recent eye-opening article from Business Insider, titled ‘Gen Z loneliness is so bad they’re spending money to make friends,’ underscores the depth of this concern.
See, loneliness is not a figment of our imagination. No, it weaves a dark tapestry into the fabric of our physical and mental well-being.
Its insidious influence not only afflicts individuals physically and mentally, but it has evolved into a pressing social concern that has hit close to home for many, undermining and eroding the quality of their relationships in various facets of life—including where they live, work, and play.
However, Acts 2:42-47 highlights something remarkable that we, as believers and followers of Jesus, are gifted when we wholeheartedly devote our lives to its teachings—an antidote to the prevailing loneliness and isolation.
The early Church of Acts shows us the way to who and what our hearts long for the most: belonging to Jesus and community.
We witness a fellowship of believers who devoted themselves to living out the teachings of Jesus.
They shared their daily lives, broke bread together, and offered up their heartfelt prayers for one another.
In their unwavering devotion, they were transformed into a close-knit, compassionate community.
As they wholeheartedly embraced Christ-centered living, their lives underwent a profound transformation, interwoven into a richer and more purposeful tapestry of existence.
We, too, can experience this same transformative power in our own lives when we invite others to share and devote their lives to Christ-centered living and community.
This, in itself, serves as the antidote to the pervasive loneliness that unfortunately afflicts our world today.
So, join us as we devote ourselves to praying to be the church of Acts 2:42-47 with those who cross our paths in Fort Worth.
Let’s be the church that intentionally invites a world lost in sin and isolation to discover a life worth living in Jesus and a genuine community with one another.
See you tonight at 8 pm on Zoom.
God bless,

Additionally, we will make space to pray for God to extend His reach beyond the limits of our city and into the world, seeking His wisdom, unity, safety, and provision for the following people and initiatives:

As we pray, let’s raise up Campus Missionary, Danny Crooke, who is dedicated to serving the University of Central Florida. His heartfelt mission is to witness the Gospel transforming the lives of students, and he envisions extending this impact to their families and friends.
Let’s unite in prayer for Pastor Kevin and Kelsey McKenzie, who are dedicated to planting Rise Up Church in Savannah, Georgia. Through God’s transformative word, spirit, and people, they greatly desire to see people discipled, students reached, families empowered, and neighborhoods revitalized.
