Hi everyone!
What a great time we had sharing laughs and stories over dinner with everyone that attended this past Sunday.
Don’t forget to mark your calendar and join us for the next Community Dinner at our place Sunday, November 13th at 5 pm. See you there (text for address)!
Last week in our time of corporate prayer and praise, we read and prayed from John 4:31-38.
We centered our hearts in prayer to trust God’s timing in his sending of us as laborers to sow and reap — sharing the message of the Kingdom of God (sowing) that leads to repentant hearts professing Christ Jesus as Lord through God’s salvific, transforming power (reaping).
While God’s heart of enduring love for people to enter into a personal relationship with Him doesn’t change, God’s sowing and reaping assignments vary for each of us. Yet we may oftentimes consider ourselves to be too busy, too distracted, and fail to recognize these varying assignments as we live, work, and play.
Nonetheless, we’re only one moment away from realizing a life-changing relationship with someone new.
Now you’re likely thinking, what one moment exactly could bring this sort of life-altering change into my life?
Well, I’m glad you asked. 🙂
Simply put, it’s taking the leap of faith to ask, invite, or engage that often leads to the most meaningful relationships in life.
So, maybe it’s asking to pray with and for a neighbor or co-worker about a specific circumstance or situation that they are struggling to make sense of.
Or maybe it’s inviting someone or a group of people to join you on a walk, your next workout, or a sporting event. Or maybe it’s an invitation to meet up for coffee or a bite to eat, or a movie or game night.
Or perhaps, it’s engaging someone with a compliment for a job well done or as simple as lending an extra hand.
Or just maybe it’s simply making someone feel seen, heard, known, and loved.
But no matter what, I strongly encourage you to never underestimate the power of God in what may appear to be an unassuming, mundane act of sowing and reaping when you ask, invite, or engage someone.
Because what may appear to be not much by our standards, God graciously turns a fleeting moment into a life-changing, meaningful relationship full of blessing.
He takes what little we have to give, including our praise, and blesses and makes it greater in harvest than we could have ever imagined!
So tonight, we seek God’s blessing for His harvest of lost souls across Fort Worth communities and campuses as we lift up in prayer and offer Him the very essence of Psalm 67: praise.
1 May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us — 2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. 4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. 5 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. 6 The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. 7 May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him. — Psalm 67
