A Freedom For, But Not From Us.

On this eve of our nation celebrating its independence, let’s not forget the greatest freedom to be celebrated and most accessible to all: The Gospel.

In a world where unity often feels elusive, we find solace and truth in the Gospel. Our society sometimes promotes a false gospel of counterfeit freedom, leading to disunity.

But today, we gather to thank and praise God for the true Gospel being for everyone—one meant for us but not from us. The Gospel that is to be freely shared and not hoarded.  The Gospel that frees us from the counterfeit freedom of bondage of sin to people, places, and things, and frees us to an abundant life in Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.

This is the Gospel that the Apostle Paul graciously lived and masterfully communicated about, the Gospel that broke him free of his sinful, treacherous ways. Most importantly, the Gospel broke Paul free from what we all need to be set free from—ourselves.

So, as we gather to pray today, we set our hearts to pray God’s heart in the most important verses Paul wrote in Romans 3, verses 21-26, where the revelation of God’s righteousness forms and shapes our hearts daily to realize these beautiful truths in how we live, work, and play unto God with others:

  • New Status: Embracing our new identity in Jesus brings hope and peace.

  • New Family: Celebrating the unity of God’s multiethnic, multigenerational church.

  • New Future: Embracing the eternal hope through Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, and ascension.

In light of these truths, let’s pray for God’s righteousness to be revealed and that His will be done here in Fort Worth as it is in heaven in the following:

🙏Thank God that the Gospel is for everyone because we all fall short and need His righteousness.

🙏Praise God for His righteousness available to all who believe in Jesus, giving us hope and peace.

🙏Pray for hearts of humility to receive and live in our new status in Jesus, relying on His righteousness, not our own.

🙏Pray for the spiritual family to maintain unity, and grow in love and understanding, embracing diverse backgrounds and perspectives on God.

🙏Pray for the revelation of God’s righteousness in Jesus to set us free from the power and penalty of sin, and the presence of sin forever in eternity.

It’s through Jesus’ love and acceptance that, by faith and not our own merit, we are gifted a new status, family, and future.

And this family allows us to truly embrace and embody the profound freedom found in the revelation of God’s righteousness, knowing the Gospel is for everyone—meant for us but not from us.

See you on Zoom at 12 p.m.!

God bless,
