The Unveiling of God’s Glory in Suffering.

As we gather for tonight’s prayer call, we will explore the profound benefits of laboring in love during seasons of suffering.

Now, when I mention the word “suffering,”, especially in conjunction with the word “benefits,” it may evoke different reactions within each of us.

Some may be unfamiliar, while others may be all too familiar, having experienced its valleys firsthand.

Suffering is one of those words that carries various meanings depending on our backgrounds.

It’s highly likely that many of us have recently emerged from a season of suffering, are currently enduring one, or are on the verge of facing it in the near future.

Regardless of where we find ourselves on the spectrum, suffering is an inevitable part of life.

In Colossians 1:24-29, Paul beautifully expresses how his sufferings were not in vain but served a higher purpose: to reveal the mystery of Christ to those around him.

Paul saw his afflictions as opportunities for God to work through him, inviting others to experience a life-giving relationship with God and committing their lives to labor and suffering for the gospel’s sake.

Similarly, our sufferings in Christ Jesus are fertile grounds for a great harvest to impact the lives of those who observe our faith journey, revealing the transformative power of Christ working within us.

Our family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers who witness our response to God in moments of suffering are drawn into the mystery of Christ.

You see, our pain and challenges are not wasted. Instead, they become powerful instruments in the hands of our loving God, fulfilling His divine purposes.

It is not only through grand gestures and public displays that His kingdom is established but also through the quiet moments of steadfastness in the face of adversity.

As we endure faithfully while suffering, we participate in the building of God’s kingdom.

In our prayers tonight, may Colossians inspire and strengthen our faith in God, encouraging us to persevere and contend for the faith.

Through our laboring and suffering, may God use us to draw others, our city, and beyond closer to Jesus—the One who endured immense suffering for the benefit of all humanity, restoring a new covenant relationship with God and offering all the hope of glory.

See you at 8 pm via Zoom.

God bless,
Pastor Alvin & Mallary Brown

P.S. Inviting and calling all women to a 7-week Summer Bible Study: Jude: Contending for the Faith in Today’s Culture.

Additionally, we will make space to pray for God to extend His reach beyond the limits of our city and into the world, seeking His wisdom, unity, safety, and provision for the following people and initiatives:

Let us lift Will and Alyssa Brown (and their growing family), campus missionaries at Texas Tech University, in prayer. May God empower them to continue sharing the Gospel, teach biblical foundations, and reach and guide students to live out their faith in Jesus. Bearing good fruit, the Browns are witnessing the transformative power of Jesus, changing legacies, and helping students find their true identity in Christ.

Join us in prayer for Pastor Mario and Katie Jimenez, who God to called to plant Iglesia HighPoint in Orlando, Florida, and reach the college campus of Valencia College. Through Iglesia HighPoint, they foster a diverse community, inspiring love for God and dedication to His mission. This mission goes beyond Sunday mornings, creating meaningful connections through Christ-centered life groups, gatherings, missions, and community projects.

P.S.S. Mark your calendar and join us for food and fun at The Brown’s house (text The Browns for location details).

Sunday, Jul. 16th @ 5 pm

Sunday, Aug. 6th @ 5 pm

Come for the food and fun, stay for the community!
