I don’t know about you, but we could really use some good news right now.
If you’re anything like us, you’ve probably encountered stories—yours and others—that seem so unfair. Stories of losing a loved one, marriages and families shattered by divorce, jobs lost, or financial setbacks.
And if not those, then the relentless struggles with addiction, illness, suffering in general, and so on.
Or perhaps, it’s the broader stories of our world that seem to favor only the wealthy, powerful, and privileged.
But as we explored on Sunday in our new series, “The Gospel Is For Everyone,” everyone’s story is part of a bigger narrative—HIStory. HIStory tells a story: past, present, and future, and it’s all His story—the good news story of Jesus.
A story that transcends worldly bias and favoritism. It’s the ultimate fairy tale come true—the unparalleled power and transformation in the good news of Jesus making salvation personal for anyone willing to receive the gift of grace through faith.
It’s the story of Jesus breaking the power of sin and death, removing its penalty, and promising a future where He forever eradicates the presence of sin and death from the new earth and heaven.
This is the truest story our hearts long to embrace and live out every day.
As we gather to pray, let’s focus on the following:
🙏Pray for family, friends, and neighbors who are in need of God’s good news to reverse their personal life story.
🙏Ask for divine boldness, courage, and wisdom to share our personal stories of salvation and transformation.
🙏Pray for Romans 1:16-17 to become a reality in our city, businesses, churches, neighborhoods, colleges, schools, and in the hearts of those open to receive the good news of Jesus.
God’s heart is for everyone—whether Gentile or Jew, good or bad, strong or weak, privileged or poor—to be saved and understand their place in HIStory.
As we saw in Romans 1:1-7, the apostle Paul understood this as his life’s story, and we can do so when we place our complete faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord.
So, let’s ask ourselves as we did Sunday and should do daily:
- If our names were swapped with Paul’s, would those verses still hold true for our lives in making disciples of Jesus?
- How would it read if our life’s story were summed up in one colossal sentence, just seven verses?
- Would it tell the bad news story of sin or the good news story of Jesus’ salvation made personal?
Let’s fervently pray and live intentionally on a mission to write the story of Jesus’ salvation made personal for everyone until the day of His return.
The good news story. A story, our story becoming HIStory, to be lived now and forevermore.
See you at 12 pm on Zoom!
God bless,
