A Prayer to Love Fort Worth in the Spirit.

What would it look like for us to love in the Spirit?

How could it change our lives?

How could it change the lives of others?

How could it change our city?

How could it change the world?

How could it change the kingdom of God?

As we gather to pray tonight, we’ll answer these questions by turning our attention to the words of Colossians 1:1-12, drawing inspiration and guidance for our intercession to love our city of Fort Worth in the Spirit.

In this passage, we find a roadmap for our prayers, a blueprint for the divine transformation we long to see in the greater Fort Worth communities and on the campuses within our reach.

It is a calling into, laboring in love to commit our lives to the following boldly:

  • Clearly living, preaching, and proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus, that His name may resound throughout our city. (vv1-5)
  • Praying and believing for the eyes, ears, and hearts to be open to hearing and responding, and in some cases returning to the Christian faith accordingly. (v6)
  • Being filled with the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of God’s will. (v9)
  • Living a life whereby our walk is in a manner worthy of our identity in Christ Jesus. (v10)
  • Bearing fruit in every good work as established by God through our lives in making disciples of Jesus. (v10)
  • Growing with and knowing God greater in relationship and knowledge personally and in the community alongside others. (v10)

Let us be mindful that the change we desire to see starts with wholeheartedly surrendering and aligning our lives with God’s purpose, plan, and will.

So, may our lives be living testimonies of God’s abundant grace and peace in our beloved Fort Worth, shining as beacons of hope and inspiration in the Spirit.

As we pray for our communities and campuses, let us believe and expect God’s presence to bring lasting change through the Gospel of Jesus. May hearts be touched and lives forever transformed by His love.

And as God responded to the church of Colossae centuries ago, He hears us now and will faithfully answer — just as the gospel has been doing among you since the day you heard it and truly understood God’s grace.

Let us join together in faith in loving Fort Worth (and beyond) in the Spirit, lifting our voices and uniting our hearts in prayer.

See you at 8 pm tonight via Zoom.

God bless,
